The current #1 spec is 12.38 pounds set in 1950.
There is a tie at #9 at 10.5 pounds.

im pretty sure anything over 7 1/2 lbs will be able to make the top 25 list in louisiana state record book.
i made the same mistake myself about 10 years ago when i caught an 8 3/4 lb speck in the sulfur mine by bason's marina, i dropped and broke the camera as well so i didnt even get a picture of it to put on the wall.
