It was the morning of OCTOBER 21 2012. I was in my stand real early. As daylite appeared i was sitting in my tree watching the squirrels run from tree to tree. So around 8:00 a.m i opened a bag of salted peanuts an ate them. Then around 8:15 i started eating a milky way as i watched 2 baby cat squirrels play to the left of me. Then i heard something jump the creek in front of me, i looked an there he was the big 10 point in front of me at 20 yards. I seen he was big so i didn't look at the horns so i wouldn't get nervous. he kept staring at me as i tried to ease my gun up. He took 2 steps backwards an started to turn, then he threw his head around an looked at me once more, then 1 of the baby squirrels jumped on the side of the tree an he looked that way then i was able the get my gun up an shoot. At 8:19 a.m my bullet hit it's spot. He ran about 25 yards an fell over. After 5 or so minutes I climbed down from my tree an walked over to where he was an just stared an reached down an put my hands on his heavy set of horns then i started thanking GOD for this very special morning as i looked at what i have just killed. I then called my 2 buddies that were suppose to be hunting with me but decided to stay home that morning an they could not believe it. When i went to the check station they said this was the biggest one they checked in all weekend. U have to love hunting public lands.
