Inshore Fishing in Cocodrie / DuLarge in South Central Louisiana
Capt. Ricky Brondum
Marcel to big fish honors this day!!
Bayou Dularge
Dularge was a little breezy Fri. but great feel to the air. My guest Jeff, Marcel and Ryan wanted to come down to the 'DU' from several referrals from the lafayette area. They spent a couple of nights at the camp including fishing the second day on their own. We fished double rigged chubs in Lsu, cajun pepper and chicken on a chain colors for trout under the birds. Plenty of fish near the raccourci (spelling?) as well as right outside of grand pass. Plenty of small fish as well as white trout but with some effort you can get a good box of fish and have a blast doing it.
Our big fish of the day came under the birds on a double rig when Marcel hooked up with what we thought was going to be a big gafftop. 10 min. later a 30+ lb. almost 40' red surfaced. We practiced P&R (Pic and release) and sent him on his way. Went soak some crabs for a little while in the Bayou Severn area with some puppy drum willing to take our crabs. Ended the day with a full box with 25 trout and a dozen or so puppy drum. Good time today as these guys fished well and were a lot of fun. Looking forward to their return. Thanks to Capt. Bill Lake for setting up the trip. Good Luck! Capt. Ricky Brondum/ Speck Chaser Charters/ 985-537-5022
