Managed Recoil loads have a reduced powder charge and a smaller weight bullet so that the rounds can be fired from the same caliber rifle with less recoil and the same accuracy up to a certain distance and still have some knock down power. Got some 30-06 for my son when he was younger and they did not kick much more than a .22, but did the damage on deer. Was looking down the barrel from behind him shooting a deer and the end of the muzzle hardly moved when he fired the round. Shot them at the range at 100 yds. and they were hitting the target in the same spot as the high power rounds.
