I told my buddy a few weeks ago to use palmetto and he quickly told me that they do fade fast and the birds will shy away when that happens .


I never thought of painting them . Do you paint them while they're still green ? Or wait till they start fading ? Good info and I will pass that to him . Thanks

Cut some mum trees or willows. Stick them in the mud and they will root theirselves and grow. I have to trim them very season and that's pretty much it. Good natural look also

I have always used palmettos on the inside of my blind they make a great wind block,almost like putting up a sheet of plywood. but as stated they turn brown and ugly really quick so i dont use them on the outside of my blind.

I cut the palms every year, and this is the majority of what I use for a duck blind. They do turn brown, but I would not say that it flares ducks. Maybe I am mistaken, but I think it is a lot better than not having a blind!
