Deer in the Pearl
Im not much of a deer hunter but like to go on a few trips each year. I usually hunt the Bogue Chitto NWR and do ok but this year Im gonna try out the Pearl as well. I have a buddy who hunts that area and manages a couple deer and or hogs a year but Im looking for more opinions. Im looking to hunt the Area between HWY 11 and I-10. What do you guys think about this area as far as deer go? Also do you think the high water we had back there will effect the deer hunting?

Hogs
Yea I was afraid of that. I went and checked the area I hunt in NWR and its pretty much the same story. The flooding looked to be pretty bad and the only sign I see is from Hogs. Hopefully things will turn in our favor over the next couple weeks but for now its not looking too good. I plan on scouting the Pearl one day during the week soon so Ill let you know what I find. Thanks for the report.

I am in a club that borders the miss. side of the pearl and interstate I-10. Before isaac I was very impressed with the amount of pics of deer on my trail cams. Since Isaac, I have very few pics of deer with an overwhelming amount of pigs. I think the high water pushed the pigs further inland which in turn ran most of the deer away. I haven't checked my camera's in 2 weeks so hopefully more deer have returned.
