I have a pair of mucks. Hunted everyday of duck season last year and my boots never changed. Teal season through duck and into geese. I run through thick briars and everything else with them and they are in great shape. Funny thing, I was wondering the other day where my mucks were from my teenage years that I out grew a decade ago to give to my buddy. After searching around the camp for an hour my grandfather walks up and asks what I'm looking for, wearing the boots. He said he'd been wearing them that whole 10 years, they were in fine shape still.
I was a died in the wool Lacrosse man but last year I saw the light. I bought a pair of Bogs 1000 Blazers and man am I glad I did. I have ten pair of Lacrosse and all I use them for now is working around camp and such. I tried Muck before but they get all torn up, extremely hot and stinky. Don't know how but Bogs solved every problem, no cold feet and my feet get cold easily, easier on and off, no sweating to death, no stink and 5 times more comfortable. The spot I killed my big 8 at last year was a 1600 yard walk and I did it morning and evening for 3 days straight until I got him, not a single bit of boot rash or sweat and my feet never got cold and it was cold.
Mucks have been great for me. I roll them down to stop my feet from sweating on the walk in. Roll em up if you get cold while sitting. I end up leaving mine rolled down a lot of the time. Also, Mucks breathe better if you pull your pants over them. Feet seem to sweat if you tuck your pants inside of the boot. My feet stay warm in very cold temps.
