Inshore Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
Leeville Report
Since Hurricane Issac I have been working way too much and finally got a chance to get back to Leeville. All the debris is gone and the area really looked good. We started fishing Friday morning at sunrise so we ran out to Northwest Island. About 30 minutes into fishing the wind started to blow and got kinda ruff. Got tired of the stick anchor being pulled up so we left and went to 4 Piles. Water was a little calmer there but seemed to be on the dirty side. Fished it for about 2 hours with no results so I made the move to the east side of Leeville. Fished the power lines around Lake Jesse and canals in the area. We used live minnows carolina rigged with 3/8 oz slip sinker. I also fished the H&H soft plastic minnow and it didn't seem to matter what color I threw. We ended the day there with 5 Specks and 101 White Trout. Saturday morning we started off again at daylight going back to the east side. Wind was blowing harder around 10 - 15mph and there was a prediction of very little tide movement. Found a little ridge to block the wind and we stayed anchored in that one spot all day. We ended Saturday with 8 nice Specks and 115 White Trout. My wife had a goodtime fighting several Bull reds throughout the day which were released. On both days the fish cleaning station at Boudreaux's had mostly White Trout and Redfish showing up. We need a good cold front to come through and push the big Specks on in.
Good luck and safe fishing.
