Inshore Fishing in Southeast Louisiana
no tide but got a few fish
Two-day report in neap tide conditions for Lake P and Hopedale. Friday launched out of Delagios on the southshore, found a moderate NE winds making things bouncy, so headed to Lake Borgne and its marsh, found one sheephead and one throwback red. The Corps has armored the west shoreline of Lake Borgne, a good thing. Wind never let up, so bit the bullet and finished on the bridges of Lake P. A couple more sheephead, nothing else.
Saturday fished Hopedale. We started in Lake Borgne, got a few pretty trout and a drum at sunrise, then it quit. Tried a few spots on the way to Pete's Lagoon, nothing. Around Pete's and Muscle got a few reds and sheephead. Tried other redfish spots, but they were done biting. Headed toward Treasure Pass, found a little current and 15 mixed white trout and specs.
Also found 5 million baby cats that were very aggressive. Need another cold front to shove them out.
