fishing advice
I usually fish around madisonville/manchac area, but i'm looking to start fishing around the slidell area. I have a 15' flat boat with 25 yamaha on it. I've seen pics of people with flat boats fishing around the bridges, just wanted some advice on places that would be fine(protected enough) for me to get in with my flat boat. Thanks in advance.

If you pick your fishing days wisely you should have no problem launching at Dockside and fishing the trestles or Hwy 11 bridge. Check the forecast before you go. With a northerly wind you can fish the bayous and shoreline of lake Pontchartrain without having to worry too much. A light S.E. wind should be o.k. too. Another option would be to launch at the Hwy 90 bridge by Fort Pike. I usually don't have any issues fishing from my flatboat in those areas. (Trout fishing should be heating up any day now at the trestles.)
Pay attention to changing wind/weather conditions.
