Don't know if it's too late for Coon, might be some fish out there but, It's too late for me. Way too many fish inside for me to run to Coon except that it's a nice ride on a nice day?
You don't need no inland honey holes, the trout are everywhere. Sister, Mechant, DeCade and everywhere else. Not big but just about everywhere. Fish the birds or drift the reefs even if you don't see birds.

I only removed comments that had absolutely nothing to do with the original post.
I believe the first part of yours was an excellent post with details. Thanks.
I did edit out the last part that was only addressing someone else and added no substance to the thread. I did not remove the comment and don't know what happened to it.

Well i thought you 'Poofed' the whole thing, i can understand deleting just the second part as i was just messing ole drew b. No hard feelings.
As i said earlier, i caught a limit last weekend drifting across sister lake using a red storm. No leader, weight, cork, or anything like that, just tie it on and start throwing. It's not worth throwing anchor when you hit a school because just as fast as you start catching, they stop. Just keep drifting and you will find them again. Keep your drag setting right for reds, we picked up a few.
Google is my navigator
Luckily for me I don't even know the reefs. I usually fish rigs and coons for specks and then some pipeline canals and an old damn for reds. If i had to fish inshore for specks I would pray for birds or try fishing white oyster poles.
Can anyone tell me where 'Sister Lake' is in the photo?
Is there more than one Coons? I'm talking abt racoon island south of dularge. The guides are hunting reds...didnt know if the island or rigs would be a waste of gas. I do not know inland honey holes so I don't mind making the hike for specs
