I went yesterday. 2 nice reds, 2 flounders, and returned a drum and flounder back to the water. Bait is everywhere. However, no trout. Give it more time. Trout were being caught in Lacombe and Liberty before big rains about a week ago. Hopefully, by end of month, the trout will be on bridge. Thanks!
Hey man i fish down in Dularge all the time and all around the Lake De Cade area. You probably won't do to well fishing for specks out there right now until the end of October because of the Saltwater diversion wall they built a few years ago down there near Mechant. First week of November should be great down there. You can always cross Lake De Cade and fish surrounding ponds for easy redfish and bass right now but its all about what you want to catch. Let me know if you head down there and ill give you some tips on where to go and what to use
I've fished the area several times and have had some good days around lake carencro but I've only fished the mouth of the bayou running into the lake from the east. I haven't been down there since the end of may cuz the liles had taken over. I dont know how much the storm affected the area. It's a long ride from denham just to catch some reds but if the bass bite is on I might be heading that way if my fishing partner is game for making the ride. Thanks for the advice!
I have not been out to the bridge in several weeks so i can't help u there, but i do know that the wooden bridge on Lake Rd. in Madisonvill was washed away so you can not launch at the mouth right now. the closest free launch will be under the hwy22 bridge witch is not too much further away but small parkinglot. Also you could launch at Mandeville Harbor that is a short little boat ride to the causeway too, just from the other side. Good luck, and im sure you know but watch the wind because the lake can get rough quick for a flat boat.
