Not much has changed Fishtaxi. I too prefer speckled trout, but some of the best rainbow and brown trout fishing in the world is on the White, Little Red and Spring Rivers. Rainbow record over 19 lb, brown record over 32 lb. Great for serious fly fishermen or a sure thing for kids. My favorite is Little Red below Greers Ferry. Very affordable lodging and guides, if you need them. Great camping right on river in a top catch and release wading area. Come up anytime, but I go in the summer when it is too hot for anything else. 60 degree water keeps you cool. Lodging and guide for two nights and days for $500 is cheap up to Venice.
