Quick Speck trip
We launched at Bayou Bienvenue this morning and ran out to Lake Borgne. The tide was barely moving, just starting to fall. We fished the south shoreline of the lake towards Violet. Had 29 nice keeper trout and one small red by 8:30. Only measured two trout for keepers and threw back only one. Most fish were 15-19 inches with a couple of 21 inchers.
Fished live shrimp on the bottom. Wind was light out of the WNW.
The fish quit when the tide started falling hard. Tried one or two spots off the MRGO and the Intracoastal with only one more nice trout. Called it an early day for an easy, successful trip and was back on the trailer for 10:00.
