I am new to this website, and unsure if my last comment posted to you....rnrnOur hogs are 275.00 for meat hog and that price is for the hog. for example if 5 hunters come to shoot meat hogs it will be 275.00 for each person to shoot the hog. And same for the trophy's except they are 400.00 for each trophy hog! I am available during the evenings at 318-992-8850, would love to discuss and answer anymore questions you might have for us
Jacomo, there are PLENTY of people out there that would be willing to pay $275 to shoot a meat hog or $400 for a trophy just for the experience of it. I would imagine most of the people would be a father taking his son, daughter or wife. Not everyone has hunting property, the time to effectively hunt a WMA, or if they do have property it may not have hogs on it.
I am not one of these people and will not be paying for a hog hunt, but I know there are a lot of people out there that will. Actually, when I was 10 years old my father brought me on a paid hog hunt and shot a 350lb russian boar. In fact I am looking at the shoulder mount right now. That is an experience I will never forget and have the mount to always remind me of it.
Jacomo or anyone , figure up how much deer season cost you , then weigh up the deer meet at the end of the year . Out of state liscence , gas , corn , cameras , bullets , time ?
I gaurontee you could buy a herd of cattle for what it cost for a few pieces of tough back strap .
And if you get sausage made ? That's not cheap either .
So actually a person could save a lot of money by going and shoot a pig for $275 . Lots of time and money .
This is waht its all about!!! Not the dollar spent but the memories made!
I did it one time... I wont do it again but I will do it for my son one day to get him an easy harvest. I shot 2 meat hogs and like before mentioned my money spent to meat taken ratio was fine by me. I hunt hog dogs now... add that up if you think a pay per kill is expensive. It is all about reward not cost!!! I love watching the dogs work and getting out in the woods all summer with good friends, new people and the kids. Just be sure you choose the right ranch/plantation. The one I went to was only 8 acres and you could walk up to some of the pigs
You are right stalker it's all about the good times , I agree on that . But I used to spend a lot on hunting season but refuse to do it anymore . Now it's WMAs and private land , it's still just as fun just not nearly as expensive .
We have never just paid out right to go shoot a pig or deer and never will . But for those who don't hunt much or don't have much time $275 is not bad .
...this is as bad as 'We Pick-Up Your Junk Cars Free'...(and the catalytic converter is worth a ton) ???...cheers ???
P/S...in the kitchen heat everything is relative...(Indian barter might work a lot better when assets are not greater than liabilities)...sometimes it does get confuse'n ???...cheers
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU NEED SOMEONE TO GET RID OF THEM HOGS I WILL BE GLAD TO COME BY AND RID OF THEM FOR YOU! EMAIL.... bigboi955@gmail.com
COUCOUVIN:
I am assuming that this is a fenced area and these people are running a business and that's why they are charging. Also, if their hogs are fenced, they are not part of the problem. Most fenced hog hunting operations are using hogs trapped from other areas so they are helping to control the wild hog population.
Is this $275 and $400 per person? Per hog? How long is the hunt?
