Could be a nice mount if you have some extra cash laying around. Saw one a while back, it was a double mount with the timber curled up and mouth open, ready to strike, and a small rabbit on the same piece of wood. Very nice

That would be an awesome idea if i didnt cut his head off. When I tried to get his ratters it 'appeared' that he was trying to strike me, so i cut his head off. haha! I skinned it out, got his meat and now I'm tanning the hide out. It should be a nice looking skin. I wish I would've mounted him!

To be correct, an awesome guy from my church got the meat and skinned him out and now he is fixing to teach me how to tan the skin! So, I hope I dont mess it up! Thats the only reason I gave it away in the first place, is because it was such an awesome snake and I didnt want to mess it up more than I already did! I don't want to take credit for someone elses work. Can I just mount the head? The head is in a ditch right now and im sure nothing messed with it. haha

I recently tanned one using a tanning kit from Wasco. The kit was $20 online and it was simple. I pinned him to an old cypress board using rustic looking bronze embroidery tacks, and it looks great. It's one of my favorite mounts. A skin tanned with this kit is supposed to last a lot longer than a skin tanned with salt. Mine stayed very soft and didn't dry out and get hard like others I have seen done.
