I killed one opening morning saw 20 only one came in. Second weekend saw 7, they flew by and as they circled someone else shot at them way high, one single broke off and got him. Hunted sat and sunday for last weekend, saw 25 sat, 6 buzzed us, didn't return 2 came in, well hate to admit but miss miss lol. Sunday, saw 7, one single got smoked, pair one died other left screaming, other four flew over when we were loading pirogue up lol. Terrible season, lots of big ducks around though and some gallinules and rails. Saw 15 poodoo yesterday. The area I hunted was very hit or miss from the people I talked too most did bad a few guys had a good flight or two opening weekend and got limits but never happened after that they said.
I hunt the Reggio/Delacroix area and killed limits nearly every hunt. I only made 2 solo hunts the rest were either 2 or 3 man hunts. I made 14 hunts this teal season. We did bag green wings nearly every hunt also.
The last few days the birds got thin as the water got higher. There were far less birds than I've seen over the past few years. There are also some areas in St.Bernard that traditionally hold thousands of teal but held very few this season. These areas were not affected by the storm because they are inside the levees.
We were also seeing pintails, grays and some shovelers.
Our Lafitte lease (The Duckbusters) had a slow season also. Just like after TS Lee, the Citrus Land, Myrtle Grove pasture land was flooded and held all the ducks in the area, plus the water level in the marsh was sky high. Personally only made 2 hunts, opening day saw 7 birds, killed 2. Following Sat saw about 20, and killed 4. Other members of the club had similar results with no consistant limits. the big season should be very different
I rate mine as a 7 we ended up with 93 teal for the season with all the flooded cow pastures it was hard to get on them the perssure would drive them their and know one was hunting we finally got on some on a WMA we did real good their hunting public land Team Duckman was out and about to keep up with us check us out on facebook The duckmen of louisiana duckman outfitters untill next time shootem in the lips
I was only able to hunt the weekends at the biloxi wma. We shot a handfull of birds but they were few and far between. Was glad to already see some big ducks down in that area. The fishing has been pretty good though so it makes going out for a bad teal hunt turn into a good fishing trip... i cant complain there.
Pearl river had ducks...Biloxi marsh feed is nonexistent it's terrible..not much land loss but no feed..fished stump lagoon today mainly 13 or 14 inch trout..just no ducks seen more in August ...I'm not sure we will have a great year I'm very concerned..if we didn't have that storm I know spots to limit big duck everyday...I do know those duck in Biloxi are resting so maybe it will be ok..I believe feed was never prime reason duck were there anyway..had chance to limit teal in
Pearl everytime just miss to much and not many teal few pairs n singles

Sophie with her first hunt of the year.
It was definitely a slow season for us in the SE. I hunted 5 different areas, made 8 hunts and ended the season with 31 teal out of my blind. I made 2 solo hunts and the rest were 2 man blinds.
