I haven't hunted hogs out there in years but the weapon of choice is gong to be what is allowed to hunt with during that time when you go. For instance, if its bow season for deer and squirrel season too, the biggest load you can shoot is BB or smaller, archery or a 22 rifle. If its gun for deer then you can hunt with a rifle or buckshot. Turkey loads do wonders, pattern your gun if you use buckshot, you will be surprised by those results. On that south area I have heard about and seen many pigs in that area good luck and post pictures if you kill any. Also the regulation book should have specific details on that WMA.

thanks for the reply, im assuming i could use my .17 hmr to the ear during the small game season. its smaller than a .22 so it should be legal. if anyone has any tips on which technique is best to hunt them, it would be greatly appreciated.
