Rio Grande Cichlid
Tomorrow I am going fishing for cichlids (an invasive species of Louisiana-it looks like a black perch) does anyone know any good baits/lures for them besides worms and crickets? Because that is the only thing I have ever caught them on. The only other time I have even heard of catching them with lures is with a fly or a panfish jig on their spawning beds. Thank you for any help.

Ive caught them on tiny spinner baits. White has worked best. Small piece of shrimp works good too.

I have caught Hundreds of them out of New Orleans City Park on 1/2 inch pieces Night Crawlers.
