Tarpon?
Is it too late in the year to catch tarpon? I will be going down to Grand Isle this weekend and would like to give it a shot if it's not too late. I have never really fished for them so any and all tips would be appreciated. I know west delta area is good but what about four bayou area? I have a couple coon pops. Do I troll them around or should I drift live bait? Again, any tips will help. Thanks in advance

October is still tarpon time.
no it's not too late. Fish between GI Pass and 4 bayous between 1 and 10 miles off the beach. Coon Pops and trolling live bait under a ballon is my method. Lots of riding around sometime. Look for them. Run the boat, stop, look again. When you find them it's on. Better than just plunkin baits out and trolling where there's nothing. My job has me smashed right now too much to go. I will my spirit to you. Luckily, I got hunting season to fall back on.
