Gonefishing want a cookie for those big bass. Maybe someone keeping a legal bass left more food for the rest to get big enough for your high standards. Anyways great 2 weekends. Wish I had more time to hit the water bass fishing. I used to take fish pics like that with my old chocolate lab. Makes me miss the good times. Great post.
Those fish won't fill a freezer. I don't have any fish in my freezer. When I keep fish, the amount shown in the picture is about what I keep. That will hardly put a dent in the population. We don't have those big bass like you have in those pictures regularly here in LA like those lakes in TX, however it's the habitat, not the habits of the fisherman that make them grow that big. Throwing every bass you catch back in the water will not make bigger bass or make sure that your kids can catch them too. If you really drive all the way to Texas just to catch a fish when you live in LA, you are homesick for TX. I need to send you some GPS spots where you can catch fish. You will not catch big bass fishing where you live now. You will have to travel to a different area in LA where they are known to be. Louisiana ranks top in almost every species of fish that can be caught here as far as size. I really do respect your opinion, however it really can ruin another sportsman's day of joy by expressing it. Reminds me of when a new deer hunter shoots a spike and the old guys give him grief instead of a high 5. Opinions are very welcomed here, but don't bum someone's story out because you feel different. Post about your feelings, but not on anyone who shows bass pics.
guy in the white boots, nicely put. That same thing happened to me on my 2nd ever buck on this site after hunting hard on public land for 5 years with no luck. It didn't feel good to have my thread slammed by the private land big buck only gurus. I let just about all my big bass over 3lbs go year round, unless I only caught a few that day and need something to eat that night. My finacee can't understand why and gets upset at me for letting dinner swim free every time, lol. Though after catching a dozen tastier socalait later in the trip she'll cheer up quick! I said since we fish this area that girl may be a wall hanger one year, though I don't rudely put pics of those released bass on another man's post. And not everyone in South LA's main goal is the fill the freezer. I fish for the challenge and sport, but having some slabs in the freezer during my long bow hunting season when i rarely have time to fish is a nice bonus. Also, I love having enough meat to give away to friends and family who don't get the oppertunity to fish as much as me.
After reading this post and seeing all the bickering I decided to read the regulations. Surprisingly I couldn't find anywhere that said this is the limit but...... If someone wants to keep fish that are legal that is their right! I'm sick and tired of these I'm better then you so let me attack your post losers. How come you don't attack anyone for a limit of trout or reds and so on? Like someone else said next time you go hunting leave your gun at home! Maybe you should take up bird watching! If people continue to attack then more will stop posting. I have enjoyed most of the posts on here and have picked up a few pointers also.
Nice catch and I'm glad you were able to put some fish in the freezer!!!!
And one more thing. To you 'sportsman' that let them go to
grow. Do you have any wall hangers? Maybe pics and measurements for a fiberglass mount would have saved the big girl for someone else to catch.......
Wrong for me to attack? Didn't you attack another's post? I see its the whole double standard thing. Your opinion is right everyone else is wrong.
Here's an idea for you and everyone else. If you don't agree with someone's catch post, don't attack their post create your own! Then you can post your opinions without ruining someone else's parade.
And just so you and everyone else knows. I fish because I love it and only keep what we eat and don't care to load the boat. My point is no matter what my belief on conservation is. I will not 'attack another mans catch! People post because they are proud of their catch.
Wait a minute.....are you really drewb?
That pic is from a report when they were trying to ban shooting reds with a bow I used it as an example of where the cca is headed
I'm a commercial fisherman believe me I'm no member of the cca
And that deer from Missouri was not shot with dogs I killed him at nite off of the side of the road out the window of my truck I used a 22 with a baby bottle nipple on the barrel
I took the pics when the sun came up I even put some orange on
That's how Louisiana boys hunt right
unfortunatley fishing and hunting 'just to do it' isnt really practical anymore.... between gear, fuel, and everything that it takes to make a trip happen, i am coming home with something. I fish to catch fish to eat, is it fun? hell yeah. I hunt to put meat in the freezer and put food on the table for my wife and kids and me and to teach them that you need to work for things in life... not just go to the grocery store. Do i enjoy the peacefulness and being in the swamp with my family and friends? You better beleive it.. and ill never stop. I guess my point is that to some people its not a sport. Its a way of life that has been passed down. i want my family to know how to harvest, clean, and cook whatever game they may come across because i truly BELEIVE in passing the ENTIRE tradition down, not just the sport of it.

Nice red caught on gold spoon in Golden Meadow.
Nicely put. I love learning about fishing on this forum. Where the fish are, the conditions, water level, etc.,etc. I absolutely hate to see people with negative attitudes criticizing others because of their catch. I fish to catch and I will always enjoy eating my catch with my family. I'm teaching my son how to fish and to fish legally. I explain things I've learned and not onc time when the fishing is slow, do I think that 'if only the people would have thrown their fish back, we would have fish!
Family trdtion is very important in LA and is our way of life. If someone doesn't like seeing someone else's catch, go watch TV and leave this forum to those who enjoy fishing, catching, and eating! Pass me some more fish, please.
Does someone have to post some crap like this everytime someone wants to post some pictures of a completely legal catch??
If you want to let the fish you catch go, then by all means, go ahead.
By some strange chance, some people might actually like to eat fish.
