Nice catch John, including your recent Grand Isle bank trip. I've been caught up working on my duck lease and generally won't fish again until spring, so I'll fish thru your reports and successes. Keep it up, you're certainly one of the best

just curious, why do you want the weight to slide above the swivel instead of pegging it?

So you feel the bite and the fish doesn't feel the weight

Would a large worm wieght or egg sinker work on your rig? We have used a similar rig in fl. for snook using live bait.
Just wondering....

I let the weight slide because when fishing areas with current it allows the current to move the line freely giving the lure more action.

I also strictly use bank sinkers because i find the line twists less than with egg weights
