Team Duck Meat headed down river for the teal duck opener. After scouting friday we found a small area holding birds and set up on them saturday morning. My group of 3 ended the hunt with a limit and our other group of 3 ended with 10. We made out with a good hunt but not a lot of birds over all. We got back to the launch and talked with some people and the reports were pretty bad with most people only coming back with a few.
Sunday wasnt the same story for us. We set up in the same area and the ducks were a little more spread out. The hunting was slow but we still managed a few. Me and a buddy ended with only 3 but we decided to leave early to do some fishing. The other group of 3 hunted a little longer and ended with 7.
We went to the head of passes and fished gulp on a 1/2 oz jig head and caught 5 reds and 2 nice flounder. Fished for little over an hour and called it day. Over all it was a great weekend with the TDM crew.
