Fishing trip with Dad
Did it again! Took my Dad to Lake Robin for an afternoon trip Friday out of BSM. The reds and drum were where we left them Wednesday, and after 2.5 hours we had 10 reds (2 bulls), 7 keeper drum, threw back more drum, 1 destroyed reel (Dad, another bull), and 1 snake who crawled into the boat. Glad my wife wasn't there for that one. He's still in the boat cavity somewhere, hope he crawls out overnight.
My Dad is the one who showed me how to fish and introduced me to Hopedale. He doesn't fish much anymore, so it was a good day just to get him on the boat, and a fantastic fishing trip to boot.
Tip: the reds and drum are on points with underwater oyster reefs and liking the afternoon falling tide along Lake Robin shorelines. Just large fresh market shrimp, broken in half. Not all the fish are right in the marsh, quite a few were 10-15 yards off the shoreline.
