Tickfaw/lake Maurepas
Put in at the public launch on tickfaw this morning . Went down to the mouth of the river looking for a few trout or croakers . Didnt get a bite .. Tryed shrimp on bottom , sparkle beetles , and chrome rattle traps .
Decided to ride to south pass to the mouth of lake P but the stiff east wind turned us around . On the way back we stopped by jones point throwing rattle trap . We caught a few bass , nothing to speak of but was glad to see that not all the freshwater fish have died .
Couldn't help to notice a couple nice camps that were obliterated by hurricane Isaac near the mouth of tickfaw . Terrible for the camp owners , I know one of the guys that owned one of these camps that was destroyed . He just retired last year and spent most of his retired life there at his camp .

As if I didn't know that was coming !
Ever hear the saying 'winds from the east fish bite the least ' ?well that's my story and I'm sticking to it . The water is high from the weird lil offshore east wind . Not sure if that's what's going on but this isn't over , they will be there . I did see some large garfish rolling and some other large fish but didn't see the big jack crevalle like after the storms in the past .
We did try going to lake P , my buddy has been wearing the white trout out and a few nice redfish . The east wind was too much and didn't feel like gettin beat to death in those waves .
