Golden Meadow Public Launch
problem is that lafourche parish could not care less about the launches, and this is bad buisness, because the parish looses out on people coming down to fish. it actually hurts the buisness places who rely on tourism. and it is the parishes elected duty to look out for things like this. it takes forever to get something done in lafourche when it partains to sportsman, look at the mess they made with cloverly, cloverly owners tried dealing with the parish and got tired of waiting. luckily someone 'NOT' with the parish went and clean the debris from the backdown with a backhoe so we could use the launch. i wont mention any names cause they will probably prosicute him.
went same place same spot as you only one day later and scratched, had around a dozen fish by the time i called it a day and went watch the saints lose again.
i think the fish just hadnt regrouped from the day before, if i knew the area better i might have done good by trying other areas around the lake but being my first day there i was more concentrating on learning to recognize the area.
yea the mouth is a great spot but some times you think that you see no birds but they are hard to spot some times, you should have also tried venturing left across the lake you will find some more birds diving that you cant see from the mouth, if there all small then move on to the next. glad you found it, youll learn it and it gives you another option.
its not easy to get the parish to do cleanup in areas like this and it often takes several phone calls from lots of people to get them to do it.
this is why i am making a serious request for others who may care about helping fellow fishermen to take a moment out of thier day to call and ask for this launch to get cleaned up soon.
no one is asking for private property to be cleaned up here, this is a parish owned boat launch on parish or state owned land that is free to use by the public.
