Inshore Fishing in Cocodrie / DuLarge in South Central Louisiana
Redfish Advice
I had never fished the dularge marsh before (i usually fish cocodire) and was fishing with two guys from work who never been there either. I found a few ponds on Google Earth on the north end of Bay Long and went after wrok about 4:30pm. On our first spot, we pulled in two 20' redfish in the first 5 cast. I thought i was going to be a productive day, but every pond, cut or shoreline we fished didnt even produce a bite. We fished spoons, spinners and shrimp under a cork and had bait in the water. My question is, Why can i find a fish or 2 and then nothing else anywhere. I am not new to fishing and i have good and bad days but this seems to happen a lot.
Thanks for any advice.

You are doing everything right, might not have any fish at those particular spots. That's why its called fishing. There are no guarantees. Fish are creatures of habit, they like to congregate at certain areas during certain periods. When you fish a new area, you just have to fiqure out where those areas are. Fish every cut, trevass any where water is moving and sooner or later, you'll get a couple. I give every spot 10 minutes and then move. One of the many benefits of a powered anchor.
