Trout Haul
Well, Robin wanted to try out his new 10' Power Pole, so we loaded up the big Skeeter and hit the water at 6:20. We originally were going to go scouting for Reds, but we found something that we like better -- TROUT. One stop was all it took this morning. We drifted some reefs, found the bite, deployed the Power Pole, and it was all over with. Every cast, two at a time. There were some throw backs, but no where near as many as I was expecting for this time of year. Double rigged Sparkle Beetles did the trick. We had to make sure our reels were locked before the bait hit the water, as the Specks were on it! At 9am, we were done with 50 Specks and a couple handfuls of white trout. It just doesn't get any better than that. The wind kept the bugs off, and the cool weather made it 'no sweat'. Can't wait till next time!
Until next time,
CATCHDAT!
