hwy. 51 , ruddock boat launch
went take a ride on i/55 . you plan on launch'n in ruddock for hunting you better where your boots to the launch. this pic. shows the better part , rest is mud. i think they would need a dozer or front loader to clear. it's thick. seen a couple fish float'n from the interstate but this water is black as ace of spades and stinks worse. i don't think a fish can live through it with swamp water steady flow'n in. trees look like late january with broken branches ,limbs,and snapped in half. most of the levee along canal clean enough to see through. deer used to feed heavy here at night during the winter. they might ought not have a season or limit it and let them recover.

There was some heavy equipment down there today doing some clean up work.

...one would think it came from layers of dormant settlement accumlated over the years...that West side has never been stirred like that in my lifetime...quite a few years ago there was a canal East of the spillway that the parish refused to dredge due to deadly chemicals buried below the bottom !!!...cheers

Looks like thats where the lake was pounding huh . We hunt that a lot and over towards reserve . My son asked where we were going to hunt today . I told him we would hunt the normal spots but It looks like its going to be rough over in that area .
