We scouted out there right before the storm and it looked great. Lots of feed and good numbers of birds, but who knows what it looks like now. We will head down there this weekend for a post storm examination and I will let you guys know what I find.
When you have time check us out on Facebook we will put some pics and videos on there as well.

I keep reading all these gloom n doom reports, and I cant wait to get off this offshore platform. I cant wait to see for myself. I mean guys this is not the first hurricane to ever hit Venice. I know we had record low levels in the river this year and that can change thing dramatically, along with a storm putting 6' of salt water across the whole landscape. But I think all will be good!
I think this year will be different than last year. Last year you could kill a duck anywhere it seemed like. This year I think it is gonna require more scouting and harder hunting. But with a good migration in the forecast I think we should see full limits on most hunts. I am a curious to get to Venice and see just how bad the food source was hurt. BUT....If there is not enough food in Venice to hold the ducks that only means they will just be a little further up river. Biloxi WMA, Bayou Savage, Salvador WMA, Pearl River any of those should be on fire if there food source down river is not enough to hold the ducks.
Kicknin........ I have been wondering and thinking the same thing for about a week now. I knew the teal were there but wondering if they still there. And with the two hour truck ride for me just to get to the launch. But I read a report where venice was spared from alot of damage. Heard the canes are all laid down. But no report on teal from Venice. And to be honest....I really dont expect anybody to reportfrom venice good or bad. Its pretty tight lipped down there. U hunt the WMA??
