wish I could help, but I can't. Most clubs in September are full. Dues at my club are due by April. We show the property to prospects if we have openings well before that time, so we can be all payed to the landowner on time. The best time to club search is in March. At that time they know who is staying and who is leaving. You may get lucky however that someone has payed their dues and needs to get out of the club for hardship reasons. Learning the property and participating in work days could be a hurdle also. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but keep the faith. Hunt where you can this season and hit your search hard this next year. Try to go as a guest at people you know's club, and it's usually a good way to get a foot in the door. When I moved to Port Allen 12 years ago it took me many years of looking to find a club. I thought I would never find one. Then one day I saw a LASM ad and responded to it. Been it that club for 6 years now.
I know man, our club has been on the same hill for 50 plus years and has never gone gotten water even close to the camp, well it had 18 inches in it last week. After a survey of the property in boats not one mammal (except for nutria) were seen. No High ground left at all. Our deer herd was just recovering from Gustav. Pretty depressing. I got out of my Mississippi hunting club this year too...bad timing.
if you don't have luck finding a lease you can always try out the public land there. The hunting is so good there I bought a camp myself. Fishing is great too! I'll be posting a preseason pump up video soon of all the game cam pics of hundreds of public land bucks from the last 2 years which will turn some heads, most from Concordia. And I mean hundreds. Should be out in a couple weeks. Though I may look for a lease out there one day too so my girl can gun hunt more days but she got her xbow and ready to try the hard way this year.
Anyone?????
