Went today out of Pigeon. Cross Bayou and past Lake Murphy is dead, black water. Pigeon from the intercoastal to Cross Bayou doesn't look bad, but smells bad. From Cross Bayou past the cross over is worse. Cowan appears to be dead but I saw no dead fish. Catfish some bad water with dead fish. Heard there was a fish kill across Berry Lake at Sorrel. Was told the front of Sorrel is very clear. Road the levee to Ramah from Sorrel. Water looks black on both sides of the levee.
Have a camp on Grand River, at Pigeon. The water was high and muddy with fish activity since the storm. Today the water was turning a grey color, fish on top sucking air, dead fish are turning up. I believe in a couple of days or so, Lake Verret and Belle River will start to see this happening there. Hope I am wrong.
I dont think anything was affected by the storm in the spillway. saw plenty of boats out for the holiday. everything looked fine.
