Not legal to scoop fish. People would be telling the agents when they had a lot of fish that they were gasping for air and about to die so they helped themselves. Seems a waste, but ya can't do it.

Chicken shad and goo ?? Say what ?? I told you already drewb that if you eat a redfish you may as well be eating gasper goo . It's basically the same fish . I don't eat either ..

It may be another 7 or 8 years for the freshwater fish to recover from this . Guess I'm gonna have to go back to saltwater . And drewb since you sometimes hire a guide I might let you follow me to some of my old speckled trout holes . That's if you can keep up with my skiff .

On tchefuncte river a few years ago that happened. BIG catfish were on the top gasping. Drop a treble hook in front of them and when they gasp it'll get sucked in and BAM! Legally caught.

Drewb since we're being honest here , you wouldn't beleive the pms I've gotten of people wanting more info on jug lining and people wanting something welded .

But like I told you already , jug lining is a seasonal thing . That's over now , it was fun and got quite a bit of fish in my freezer also .

Lordbud over here like in the Amite , blind , and tickfaw there are a few catfish , not many , but mainly shad , bass and sacalait , and perch that will be hit the hardest . Next spring I'll catch catfish in the lake on trot line but sacalait in the river will be hard to find .

Yep I sure did .... Hopefully I'll be able to keep my word . Since the hurricane , work has really picked up .

But , the last 4 hurricanes that's the way it's been . Unbeleivable but true . And they aren't just at the mouths of the river . I've caught limits a half mile up the river from the lake .

It used to be a secret but more and more people are finding out , especially now . But it doesn't matter , I'll still catch my fish .

They wasn't lil school trout either , I'm talking 20-24 inch trout . Crazy stuff dude !

It may be a week , or even two after the water level settles but they'll be there . It fun catching those fish , but sucks that it'll kill off the fish I like catching the most , which is sacalait ..

Ok guys from what i know on theses fish kills it affects everything mostly w/Scales, Bass, Perch, Crappie,Shad. You wont see alot catfish,gar, Choupic Anyway headed to work Choupic let me know what u find if its legal or NotI'm not far from the river or your area cyaaaaaaa

If you post some new pics with a bunch of sacalait in your uniform , I know where and how you caught em , and I'm calling the people on ya !!
