Was up there on Monday near Monterey. Heard they got anywhere from 3-5 inches depending on the area. Still dry but the crops all the way up from Lettsworth to Deer Park looked to be in good shape. Will need plenty of water from now to the opener to hunt flooded timber for ducks. Deer should be OK. Did not see many limbs or trees down so the acorn crop probably faired pretty well. Good luck.
It was really dry until two weeks ago like it usually is in the later summers up there. Not nearly as bad as last year's drought. They had some rain which put a little water in the bayous but the slews were still bone dry. I'm curious to see how much rain was deliver with Isaac. I'll let you know next weekend after I go scouting for deer again.
