I'm hoping the water will recede enough to be able to fish this Monday since I'll be off for Labor Day. I'm pretty sure there will be a launch open somewhere if the water goes down. These people can't afford to miss out on making money, especially now. So long as there's no safety issues.
I live on Lakeview Drive which has Dockside at the end. The street still has water on it but is passable by truck, and you should be able to launch at the ramp. The bait facility downstairs definitely took on water and I doubt they will have live bait, but marina operators are very resilient and they may surprise me. Don't know the status of the Rigolets but its probably the same situation.
Unless you are launching, please don't sightsee, we are cleaning up a huge mess. I had waist-high grass, debris, and wood up to my waist covering half the driveway, and for good measure, it was also full of snakes, dead nutria, and fireants.
Since the Parish refuses to help clean up even driveways ('private property'), we are forced to put everything on the street, so be careful. Remember that the next time they ask for a property tax hike.
