Thank you for your comment, THE ROOT. But my entire life of being Right On, has limited my number of friends and people to take me salt water fishing. It not fun having a really correct comment and people hate you for it. I'll give you an example. Quote, 'Thousands of people are dying every day, from SECOND HAND SMOKE!!!' My Quote, 'If you are so right, for one million dollars, find me one that you can prove.' Lost a friend and his wife over that comment. Used to go to the camp, kinda regularly with them. Been about 5 yrs. now. The Wife says I am stupid, ignorant, not informed, etc., etc., etc. Well since I was in Military Intelligence, I think that that nullifies those comments. Hope you liked the story. It is true.
I understand you point. When I tell people that, they say, 'Talk about an oxymoron.' And I tell them, 'No I am just a regular moron.' I sure hope you got the connection of being told ignorant, etc., and my M. I. comment. After all, I am just a 50% crazy(documented) Vietnam Veteran, according the the V. A. But just to let you know, 50% disability is only 26% money. But it does not make me ignorant, etc.
I can tell you firsthand that there are a lot of people who just don't consider all of the variables. I saw both extremes after Katrina. There were a very select few that were prepared but many who did not prepare at all. When you are in a wheelchair and live in a single story house you would think evacuating would be common sense, unfortunately that is not the case.
I wonder if they will evacuate. Or will they do like the idiots in the more southern areas, and stay after the Mandatory Evacuation. Look, don't take my comment wrong. I am from Houma and my family is from Larose to Grand Isle. In the old days we stayed and they stayed. There was not the electronic communication equipment we have now. It just seems to me that if there is a Mandatory Evacuation called, and you decide to stay, you should be able to fend for your self. Now, many people will disagree. So how about if they stay, emergency people are sent out to save them, and some of the emergency people die. It may be O K to you, but not to the families of those who die. That is the gist of my comment. Idiots do things and other people may suffer or die for it. Now I know I have opened up a can of worms, but lets not make it a 50 to 70 comment comeback. Just listen to the point. Here it is again. Idiots do things, and other people may suffer or die for it. Yes, I would go out to help!!! I called and offered to help in New Orleans for Katrina. They told me they had enough people. They lied.
