Sounds to me like you will need a new fuel line. The ethanol in the gasoline probably caked up inside of the fuel line as it was sitting up and not being ran. Also, you may need to check the carburetor. It may have ethanol caked in it as well. Im not an expert on this but i have seen a few different surface drives with the same problem and usually the solution is as simple as changing out the fuel line and fuel filter.

I would start by checking the fuel line in the tank. Usually has a small filter on the tip that can get clogged. From there I'd follow the other suggestions. In the future install a cheap inline fuel filter.

This happened to my gator tail last week while I was fishing. Ran fine all day long, then motor kept killing on the ride home. Finally came to the conclusion the fuel line was dry rotted and was loosing prime. You might want to check that first. Cheap and easy.

i agree with the above but if that doesn't work the next move would be to make sure the fuel pump is working. That happened to mine last year. good luck
