nice meal there, i tried catfish lake thursday and friday but the dirty water killed me. had less then 5 trout each day with no keepers

keakar....I've fished all around the lake never in lake itself, Fished the Golden Meadow side Marshes w/ Bait shrimp Produce good Reds,Drum,some Flounder Few Specs, Best place i seen for Specs out there Bayou Blue area Biggest Specs I've ever seem 2-3 lbs somew on shrimp on poppin cork some on H&H Cocohoe Minnows

the lakeshore is great for reds, i like the east and west sides, my cousin favors the south and north shoreliines, we both catch good red limits most days weather permitting and the trout in the lake are not usually as thick in numbers as other areas but sometimes they are. try in 3-4ft depths and follow the shoreline in a straight line parallel to it about 100-150 yards off the bank. usually theres crab traps or something to use as a guide to follow. the lake has a lot of oysters and there are little ridges that hold fish from old washed out canals and pipelines.

wherever the wind is blowing i go to the protected side and fish 18-24 inches under a cork with clear and chartrouse under a cork. my cousin hates corks and casts and reels the whole way. he likes smoke, avacado, and purple.

we are both the type to avoid bait fishing so we are strictly artificial baits

yea some people like that Love that casting&workin the Bottum w/plastic, Which is when i use plastic i just cast like I'm bass fihing I've caught few on Plastic Not ManyI went out to Rigolets once was fishin up in Marsh casting w/Beetle Spin sorta green, orange w/some chartreuse figure i might catch couple reds&specs Heck caught 4 nice Bass

hey js you are right bait shrimp is good to have aboard but 90% of the time we fish specks, and plastics always do it for us. yea dad hates fishing with bait , he says its boring lol, so i usually fish it only when he stays home.

yes i hope the weather holds out too. I am gonna rig up some double 1/8 once lead heads with the small chartruese h&h split tails as when i cleaned those trout they are eating little white shrimp, last year at this time we did good not to say the 1/4 ounce did not work but the smaller bait caught more fish and the size was the same. hope it works for us sat.
