~ Captain Paul's response to: ~ Mossyhorns ~
Instructions on how to use, configure and tracks is covered on pages 31. 32 and 33 in the Garmin Owners manual for the Garmin GPSMAP 400/500 Series of GPS units.
If you don’t still have your Owner’s Manual, you can download one from the Garmin web site at
http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/GPSMAP_400_500_Series_US_OM.pdf
Even if you have your original copy of the manual, I suggest that you download the revised copy and keep it in a file in your computer.
Page 32 of the manual indicates that,
“TO CLEAR the ACTIVE TRACK from any chart except the Fish Eye 3D, select MENU > WAYPOINTS & TRACKS > ACTIVE TRACKS > CLEAR ACTIVE TRACK”. The Track Memory is cleared and the current track continues to be recorded.
To EDIT or DELATE a SAVED TRACK: From any chart except the Fish Eye 3D, Select MENU > WAYPOINTS & TRACKS >SAVED TRACKS. Then select the Track or tracks you want to edit or delete. Select the EDIT TRACK to change a name or color of the track or SELECT DELETE to delete the Track. “
