Trips are a hoot to target and catch. They are also great eating!! Nice job man, looks like you're hooked on trip fishing.

Hey what the Secret to catching theses&what bait etc&wheres good place to try for ummm like in Rigolets,Lake P, Lake Borgne?

Well I caught them by freelining shrimp to them and spot fishing them. You just have to do a decent amount of riding to find them. I worked the crab trap floats on the northeast side of Lake Borgne. You just ride by the crab traps, don't be afraid to get close as they aren't bothered by passing boats. Once you see a fish kill the motor and troll back to the float and just keep tossing your shrimp to and bringing over the nose of the fish. You have to be persistent as they don't usually take it on the first try. I liken it to aggravating them with the shrimp until they take it. Some are smarter and just won't take it. I had one I finally gave up on as he would just go deeper when I trolled up. Give them a good three or four second count when they take it before you set the hook. I had another one I lip hooked that was able to spit the hook. That was a bummer. I caught them on the same rig I use to bottom fish for trout minus the lead weight.

Guys I was hoping I could get some suggestions on how to cook these fish. Anyone have a good recipe?

Wet the fish, lightly season and coat with panko bread crumbs. For healthy use olive oil but a little better with butter. Make sure it's hot and cook on both sides about 2-3 minutes each. Wash down with a cold brew!!
