I hunt where I can when I can mostly south welsh and some in sweetlake I saw the teal in sweetlake area. I'm just ready to see what September will bring I here it's gonna be a great season because bird numbers are up and the drought up north but any one who spends a fair amount of time in a blind knows that it's all speculation regardless of numbers only time will tell what kind of season we will have. Not to break spirits or anything I'm hoping for the best.
Wish that Hagen fella all the luck you can, he will need it. He used to be a good hunting buddy of mine until I saw how bad his luck was. One morning he was going hunting and someone stole his whole paycheck worth of cash and his little cigars out of his truck. Then he let some plugs borrow his canoe and the let it fly out of the boat on the way to and from the launch and busted up some holes in it. Then his motor wouldnt run worth a crap cuz of the crew he had in it, it was going so slow Lo had to paddle with his 870. Then to top the whole thing off, right before they got home, Lo looks back and said, 'Hagen, the cowling on the Yamaha is fuggin gone!!'
It only got worse then I buy a new gun and me being an idiot let the salesman talk me into buying a name brand I never heard of and builds it up saying how good is and come back for the second split from my unfortunate BS that had happened the last day of the first split, i nearly get run over by a tug boat it was raining so hard I came close to sinking the boat on top of me leaving my plugs out of the boat, but the birds were moving and we were stacking up some birds but after about 10 shots my gun explodes needless to say that was the last day I hunted that season. Ive had much better luck since but I haven't killed near the birds that I did that season.
yesterday i saw several big flocks buzzing our area ive seen quite a few post all over the net saying people are seeing good flocks all over louisiana i just hope they stick around for season and dont blow through to soon
