Freshwater Fishing in South Central Louisiana
Bayou pigeon: grand lake?
Hey guys I fish bayou pigeon three to four days a week throughout the entire summer and I've caught a ton of fish. I've just recently found the sac a lait and have been doing very well on them the past few trips. I catch a ton of bass and have caught good numbers of keepers. I normally fish the Murphy lake area but I got bored with it so I decided to run all the way to grand lake yesterday. I ran through the loop hole to get to the northern end of the lake and i was shocked at how big it is. I got into the lake and fished the two closest points of the islands in the lake on the north end for bass and only caught two small fish. Can anyone tell me how y'all bass fish in the lake? I've heard of huge stringers coming out of there but it seems kind of hard to fish because the banks of the islands are muddy and just bank grass in the water with a few stumps here and there. Maybe it's not good because the water is do low?? Is the fishing on the southern end of the lake near big pigeon better?? And can you still catch bass on the north end of the lake? Thanks guys and god bless

General info here only, haven't been out there in awhile personally......Concentrate on the points of all those small islands in the lake. Shad or crawfish colored crankbaits, spinnerbaits, or redshad plastics. Also if you've gone that far, don't overlook Keelboat pass nor Chicot pass. Good luck.
