Inshore Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
Capt. Bob's Leeville Report
Hello Again Cyber Anglers,
Trout are still biting as confirmed by John and Chris Hebert. Saturday they were greeted with wind and rain so I took them to the South Texaco Field where they caught 11 big Trout and one Redfish before the bad weather hit and forced us in. Then the heat turned on and we went back out late afternoon till dark, fishing the Deep Bayou rocks and the Cut Thru Canal where we found the Redfish Tailing and feeding on crabs on the surface.
Sunday I headed west with my guests and hit the underwater islands in the Northwest field and never left. The Hebert’s caught 22 Trout and 2 big Redfish along with a monster Shark. We were back in by 1030 am as the wind slacked and the heat was smothering. This past week the fish started biting better Wednesday and improved thru the weekend as the tide range increased. Trout early am on the incoming tide and Redfish in the afternoons on the falling tide was a rule of thumb for us despite the West wind. Live cocahoes Carolina rigged worked best.
This past week’s best trip was Saturday & Sunday’s am trip as both big Trout and Redfish were caught. The South Texaco Field is on

I will try and post pic’s but have not been successful in the past when I post while I am in Leeville. Shrimping opened up at 6pm yesterday so water may be getting dirty as the west wind persists. In the meantime good luck fishing…….Capt. Bob
