If you're heading down there to observe-why not fish the tournament? We have taken several noobies into the pass and they all scored big reds.

You really should consider fishing the tournament while you're there. You can learn a lot more by actually fishing than just observing.

Thanks for the comments Chris. I have appreciable experience fishing the pass for big reds. I guess it's a matter of logistics at this point as my yak is at my lake place in Catahoula Parish and I am in Zachary. I'll be better prepared next year. OK. It still will be a lot of fun and you certainly will see an endless variety of yaks and rigging options.

My understanding is that space has been limited for sleeping arrangements, but hopefully you'll find someone that has an extra bunk.
