We use thermacell ... It's hard to beat a thermacell . I've killed several deer with them in my climber and wouldn't attempt to go sit in a deer stand without them . I don't like using the spray because of the fact that they do put out odor . I've killed deer out of a climber with my bow when deer were less than 20 yards away . The thermacell was glowing red and smoking and didn't seem to effect the deer . You can buy the best spray on the market and still have mosquitos buzzing in your face . With thermacell you won't have that at all . We primarily hunt swamp and Mosquitos are awful ! You can buy whatever you want but just my experience that thermacell works . Period
If you are ever outside around the house or about to go walk around the woods and you dont have any mosquito repellant, use scented dryer sheets. Rub them on your clothes, arms, and legs and you wont feel a thing. Obviously will not work for deer hunting because of the smell, but i figured i would throw it out there. Saved me a few times bowfishing.
Not trying to high jack your post, but it seems as if you already have your answer to your question.
Huck...one teaspoon of vinegar to each quart of drinking water helps keep fleas and ticks in check...plus 1/2 clove fresh-pressed garlic in solid foods in extreme cases...vinegar can also be used as a cleanser on cuts and scrapes...you only get this info if you find a honest vet...I read in the newapaper some has been know to even dilute their pain killers on pets...but PETA don't 'hear' those things nor bother to investigate ???...cheers
P/S...it's all relative...
Searcht eh internet and find a product called No Stinkin Bugs. I use it and it is odorless and works.
