Weekend report from Leeville
Pulled into Leeville at Boudreaux's Friday afternoon. Had a breeze blowing enough to make Lake Racourci a little too rough to get out to Northwest Shoal. The wife and me fished the rocks at Deep Bayou until sunset using minnows from Terry's. A little patience with the wind finally paid off right at sunset and boated 7 nice trout and 1 Bull Red that broke off my wife's line.
Woke up Saturday morning too calm winds and loaded back up with minnows and ran to Northwest. We had 11 trout ranging from 2 to 4 lbs at 11:00 thats when mother nature decided to hand us a huge storm. We made a mad dash back to Boudreaux's just before the storm hit. While waiting out the storm I had a nice conversation with Capt. Bob.
A little after 2:00pm the storm had passed and my brother in law which got stuck out at Casse Tete Island in the storm called and told me he was still floating and the water was calming. We headed back out to Northwest where we found a good trout bite on the minnows around 4:00. We fished carolina rigged with a 1/8 oz weight. We ended the afternoon with 30 trout most were over 18 inches.
Thanks to Boudreaux's Motel for providing a clean comfortable place to stay as they always do.
Looking forward to my next trip sometime during the week of the 13th.
Good luck and safe fishing.
