REEL LIFE FISHING
On Sunday it was Braxton Lapierre and his gang of fish catchers. We debated about going deep for yellow fin but decided on the action of rig fishing. I think it was Lindsey that said she was a black cloud and when ever she is on the boat they never catch fish. Well I specialize in busting black clouds. I wanted the jinx off right away so while Bryson and Braxton were catching hard tails I had a pogie sent down for a quick bite. It was so quick that I didn't hardly get to give the rod to Lindsey before there was a nice snapper on the line. The black cloud was leaking bad now and soon was going to be drained. Now with hard tails in the live well and these are going to stay alive this time, we are off to the jacks. Only we found a nice little rip and pulled a few chick dolphin out and missed on a big wahoo. Now its jack time and, 'Capt. Gray just for you I used heavy lead, 4 ounces.' It took longer for the bait to go down 100 feet than getting a bite. First jack on in less than a minuet of getting to the spot. Black cloud up and black cloud busted, Lindsey is the proud owner of a nice 45 pound jack. After a quick picture and a kiss for the jack it was Dannie's turn. Again it was super quick and again a nice jack hits the deck. Another picture moment and a quick kiss for the jack and now its Christen's turn. The same results every time till all six jacks were in the boat. Except the guys didn't have a thing for kissing the jacks like the girls did. Now it was tuna time and the black fins didn't disappoint the gang. Just one thing the girls didn't know was that on my boat you have to please the Gods to continue to catch the fish. So after each one caught their first tuna we pulled the still beating heart and they had to take a bite out of it and then toss the rest into the water for the fish Gods. We put 8 tuna in the box before the lightning was pushing my buttons. All three girls, Dannie, Lindsey and Christen said that they had so much fun that they will book for their Bachelorette parties. Capt. Tommy, go Venice style and put a 22oz on there and you won't have to wait so long! Nice catch Skipper.
