Bass Fishing in South Central Louisiana
Bayou Pigeon
Made a trip out to Bayou Pigeon yesterday afternoon and did pretty well. Fished the usual canals and caught 20 or so bass but only a few of them kept. I managed to pull this 4.6 pound bass out the water on a Red Shad worm. The fish were biting extremely well for the first hour or so then a small front pushed through and shut them down. The fish have moved a little bit deeper than they were last week. I started catching good numbers on a shad color shallow diving crankbait around the grass and a few on the ribbit frog later in the afternoon. Had a few takers on a humdinger spinnerbait but most fish were caught around structure such as cypress trees and stumps bumping and grinding a red shad worm on the bottom. Im headed out there later this weekend to go after some sac a lait. Get out there and tear up some bass guys they are biting like crazy out there.
