Although the good doc, has not let out his honey hole for public knowledge, one expert has decided where he caught the great fish and a second expert using that usless bit of info has decided he is lying about where he caught the fish. Gotta love the experts.
EXPERT= has been drip under pressure.
First of all nobody claimed to be and expert. Second of all the headline reads that it was a lake p caught fish. Third, nobody has confirmed what area the fish was caught in. All i was saying is that if the fish was caught in the rigolets i personally dont consider that lake p but what do i know i'm no expert. I dont expect anyone to tell me exaclty where they caught a fish, i believe in putting your time in and figuring it out yourself as i'm sure Doc has. I was just wondering if it was lake p or rigolets because i consider them to seperate boddies of water. Like i said congrats to him, nice fish.
Well since East had to flame me.......
I'm not an expert, and wasn't in Doc's boat, but Todd Masson wrote an excellent article last month on some fishermen which included Doc. It actually gave a specific Rigolets spot I won't repeat out of respect for Doc. The article also says he often uses live bait, with a slight preference for mullet in the summer. However, he also uses croaker.
Add to the fact that big trout target mullet, and that record trout have been caught in the Rigolets in past summers, I think its a decent educated guess. Of course, it could be somewhere else, and that beautiful fish may have devoured a lure. Breezy asked, and I guessed, and it was just for fun, until East had to spit out his vile.
East, would you rather add something constructive, or keep insulting people?
The fish measured 29.25 inches and would have weighed more in May. The internet makes it sound easy to catch large trout in the lake but it is a select group of anglers that do it on a consistent basis. Bob is one of the few who has put the time into fishing it. The average fisherman has close to zero chance of going in to the area and catching that kind of trout.
All the guys that catch fish work at it day in and day out and there is very little luck. I learned this lesson when I use to fish the Bass tourn. Learned that the winner had a bigger faster boat and he fished almost every day before the tourn. 90 percent of the contestants were like me gave our money to the winner. These kind of guys will humble you real fast and boy they are good but believe me they have there bad trips. Most week end fisherman has no idea what is going on with water and where to fish. The pro has all his baits tied on the rods and a list of spots that he and friends caught fish that week. Time on the water will make you a great fisherman believe me this is the key.
Awesome!!!!.......Wonder if it was caught on thoses famous Dockside Live Shrimp???
