Bayou Dularge report
Finally able to get back out on the water after a 2 week break. Not the kind of break I wanted as having the boat repair done from that obstruction I hit and the rotten weather last weekend. Turned out to be a good day as the fish were still right where I had been catching them last. Had a new customer on board named Craig Shellenberger. Vic, Greg and Greg's grandson Calob joined Craig to see what the 'DU' has to offer. Loaded up with croakers and shrimp from the Tracie Macie and began our search. First stop did all most all the damage as the first cast had trout coming in the boat. The next 2 hours had a fairly steady bite going.Young Calob (12) began his clinic early on and never let up on the 'grownups'. This little man was a weapon of mass destruction when it comes to trout. Vic had all he could handle also as he landed a 24lb. red on light tackle. What a fight and then released for someone else to enjoy. We ended our day with 58 trout on ice. Most were 14 to 16' with some 18 to 20' thrown in. Live croakers worked best with several fish caught on double rigged LSU chubs as Greg loved to fish plastic. Along the beach of Coon Point area in 3ft of water with clean water. These guys were a great group and can't wait for their return. Good Luck! Capt. Ricky Brondum/Speck Chaser Charters/985-537-5022
